one week in Israel…

August 9, 2005

good afternoon…
a busy day today..
First of all I was approached by Ari Cutler asking about my bagel comment…
Let me clarify.. The bagels in Ramat beit shemesh that I had were bad… Im sur ethere are places where the bagels are great.
I guess news of this blog travels fast… israel to Staten Island and Back to Israel…
I don’t want to be meraglish.
Today Our lift came and I am sitting among 50 boxes in the basement on a picnic chair with no air conditioning… it still leaks.
I was at the Family educational fair with my kids and my balloons… at Nof Ayalon.. the premise is to educate the parents on schools, social issues they may go through… Q/A with kids that made aliya in years past…etc.
I had to chase my daughter around the sha’alavim campus so I missed the first session… twisted balloons for 2 hours… and missed the next session.. so I learned that balloons pop FAST… in the israel sun.
Back on the ranch… the lift came and Penina and a few neighbors had to coordinate everything… we are still at our temporary apartment… perhaps wednesday night we will sleep at the house.
The stilts made it!! the foosball table is all set up.
Tommorrow, the locks will hopefully get changed. We hopefully will get a phone line and we will hopefully get signed up to the kupat cholim… to sign up… you have to do it at the post office… (yup.. thats israel).
have a great day!
