Dud? Where’s my water…?

This shower business is getting difficult.
It occurred to me this morning at 5am, that no amount of waiting would help the water turn hot…
Penina did laundry last night.
SO while I have clean clothes…. I had to shower with my sweater…
How does the dud shemesh work you ask?… I asked that this morning.. and I found the answer:
Practically speaking, how does a dud shemesh work?
Water runs from a tank through black pipes exposed to the sun. The sun heats
up the pipe, which heats up the water inside. The hot water returns to the
tank.
When the user turns on the hot water, it takes hot water from the tank. Cold
water flows into the tank.
There is a website which discusses the halachic ramifications of using the dud shemesh on shabbos.. I think there were poskim that allowed it, but I think now, the consensus is that it is assur.
I called avromi strauss last night and I had nothing new to add. Im happy that some of you are reading this chazerey… I mean important ranting…
Today, Penina is going to the book store to buy books for the kids. Each has a list of approx 15 books for school. From math to tanach to mishna… etc. Yes, the girls in my daughers class will be learning maseches brochos this year. Yoni, will be learning Gemara: baba kamma. Should be interesting….
LAst night after work, I saw Yoni co-ordinating a softball game in the “street” by our house… (our street is about twice as wide as the sidewalks in SI)…. No one had any clue what to do… One girl hit a ball and continued running around the bases still holding the ALuminum bat… She almost clocked a kid in the head…
well, I’m going to head back to work… I have to modify a user guide on a d-link router… that does… stuff…
