Last night I found out my stilts have a new use.
I changed the Air conditioning filter of a friend of mine. (Loren Spiegelman)
WIth my Stilts…I stood on a chair.. that had three of its legs on a step…
Long story short… we got the job done. The guy even tried on my stilts and sorry to say litchy, he was better than you.
Today is day 1 of school.
Good news for Penina.
Bad news thats its only until 12:30 for another week. And Moshe doesn’t start until Monday.
Last night Yoni and Michal had an “orientation” at the school. Meeting teachers… getting a tour of the place. They both sound excited. Penina is driving them today, but I think there is a city bus that the school kids take which is pretty inexpensive.
Yoni says there are 2 ping pong tables and the bathroom is “HUGE”…his “buddy” is a former oleh that lives on the block. Apparently new olim are given buddies to help them with school “stuff”.
Michal has requested that she sit in the same “table” as her cousin. SO we’re expecting calls from the school right from the onset.
Due to the crickets in the house.. as a result in a hole in the basement (and roof)…
the exterminator is coming this morning so after school, Penina is going to drive up to Tel aviv to pick me up nd then we will drive down to Jerusalem to get the forms to get your license. There is a place for forms, a place for eye tests, a third place to get a test scheduled and a fourth place to get the lesson and test. Its great hearing crickets… but not when they are LOUD.. We have ants, crickets, I think thats it… after having termites and roaches and other stuff in Staten Island… we are kind of used to it…
I think I’ve mentioned this but there are many Yahoo email lists in Israel: Beit shemesh, Jerusalem, Ra’anana, Efrat, Jobs, Tech writing, etc.. many..
I noticed there is a game of Flag Football in Ramat Beit Shemesh so I called up and I’m playing…. thats FLAG football… not the kind yanky plays with Kenny…
The organizer is trying to get a team together to play in the football league in jerusalem.
In any case, it will be nice to step on some new toes… with my cleats…
Tommorrow should also be an easy day, Penina found a cleaning lady… yay…
I have no idea what the cost is, I hope I make more per hour than she does…
Jay Berkowitz has returned from a camping trip near the kinneret. He borrowed my tent and took the family north.
I wish I could have been there seeing Jay in a Tent with his PJ’s.. I hear he brought some kind of mattress. Kind of roughing it… but not really.
I think Avrumi has one.
by the way, its 2 days in a row … shower with hot water….
One last note, SOme of you know that all streets in Ramat Beit Shemesh start with a nahal.. i.e. Nahal HaTarden, nahal Sorek.. after rivers, streams.. etc. We live on Nahal El al… doesn anyone know where in israel there is a Nahal El al?
