Chug-ing along…

September 9, 2005

Last night, the first installment of the balloon chug went well.
One hour for boys, one for girls… ein baya.
Hats… and more hats.. and that was that (s).
A few people couldnt make it, but it looks promising. H0pefully after a few weeks we can take the group to twist and entertain in a Chesed Environment.
Slept in this morning - 7:15… a mechaya.
There is a big difference with having friday off… The kids are in school. So you get a few hours of semi piece and quiet.
This morning I went to the doctor.. and good news… no damage.
Shoulder is fine.
After the doctor I set up the drums in the basement and a few hours later I have yoni playing… or banging… Moshe lip synching to Shweky and Miami boys… and tamar is making a racket as well.
Another few days, and we’ll get evicted for sure.
Also, the yeshivas and seminaries are open for business.
My cousin, Zanvy Grauman, Mrs. Schwartzie’s brother, is in a yeshiva nearby, Lev Hatorah. They are under a shul, and there are plans to build a new community around the yeshiva not far away. I called him on his cell and after a long flight. He’s ready to learn.
There is also a new girls seminary next door. Someone converted 2 houses into a seminary and there you go.
I just met 2 girls outside one from Florida one from … somewhere I guess.
Its going to be interesting around here. Ramat Beit Shemesh seems to be the IN place for anglos so it figures to follow that the anglo yeshivas would be here.
Tommorrow night Rabbi Leff is speaking at a nearby shul to speak about teshuvah and an organization that goes to the different moshavim and gives shiurim and advice to parents.
They work on the parents BEFORE the kids.
If you work with kids and not the parents, the parents won’t welcome it. SO they get the parents involved in shiurim..etc.. and THEN they have programs for kids.
They have 400 shiurim a month in Israel that they try to get sponsors for.
Lev achim or achai… or something.
a rabbi from the organization came over to my house last night to show me the CD of the work that they do and tell me about the shiur with Rabbi Leff.
There is NO shortage of shiurim in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
BOruch hashem.
With rosh hashanah coming up, the shul I go to is selling seats.
1000 shekel for 2 seats, and 100 shekel for an additional seat.
so thats under 300 for 4 seats.. thats it.
Not alot for NY people, but a decent amount for Israel. BUT there is no dinner or other fundraisers for the year, I hope.
well, I’m going to sign off.
Have a good shabbos and Keep in touch!
