Good morning to all.
A special Mazel Tov to The Staten Island Yankees NY-Penn Champions for the third time and a Mazel Tov to Yehoshua Fischer of Jerusalem his bris was today.
It was quite an experience going to an Israeli Bris. The most interesting thing was..
There was NO bagels and LOX….
Yes, that’s right I know its shocking but…. there was no bagels and LOX.
One other difference is here in Israel The bris is called for a time and people daven wherever. Because families live all over israel, its more difficult to get people together so the bris means the BRIS and the Meal.
Fleishigs. Like a real seudah.
Real dishes and silverware. Chicken. Borekas. Pareve Ice Cream …. all at 9:30 AM… I was fleishigs all day…
Shnitzel in the AM… OY. His Rsh Hayeshiva, Rav Finkel was there as well. He has parkinson’s so someone had to help him walk. But when he walked in.. you could have heard a pin drop. I have a few pictures of him if you want to see.. just ask.
It was great to see my “israeli” family. Talking to my cousin shmuli who lives in Kiryas belz area… he said he lets his kids take off from school to go a a cousin’s simcha. He doesn’t want his kids to feel they have no local cousins, like their Israeli Friends.
It was also very strange bec. The father of the boys parents and inlaws or siblings were not there, so It was good that My brother and I went. With a small family in Israel, Every little bit counts. Even my cousin moshe.
Driving back with my cousin Eli I noticed the funniest thing.
We saw a pliceman on the side of highway 1…. we then saw a policeman near a car pointing a speed gun..so we slowed down. 100 meters later we saw another one…. and another one…. after further review… they were only cut outs… not real police. I never saw anything like it. Maybe I can steal one next week..
Yesterday at 4pm I noticed they were setting up for the thursday party… Burekas and beer and wine coolers.. I’m thinking..
hmm.. people leaving work.. driving home… hmmm… let’s give them beer to take as they drive home.
What could be so bad..
Yoni is at a birthday party for a kid in his class. As I dropped him off I noticed the father of the boy is Ira Grodski. Camp Dora Golding guy.
I also saw a friend of Mine Avi Perlowitz who moved in around the corner.
Its interesting to see former classmatess/ campmates in Israel.
Well I gotta run, I have to drive the kids somewhere. The maid didn’t show up today so Penina has to wash the floor so I have to drive the kids somewhere.
Have a great Shabbos!
