What? Come Shvitz?

December 8, 2005

Last night I played drums again.
Aryeh Pearlman needed a drummer for his kumzitz at Reishit.
He got me instead.
He was told that a drummer would bring his sales up from possible 10 CD’s to 15.
After I played I think he sold 1.
Kidding.
I think I’m going to stop calling myself a drummer.
I realize that HAVING drums isnt the same as KNOWING HOW to play.
In my defense, only about 10 people in the world probably know the songs on his CD, it wasn’t released yet in Israel and just hit the market in the US. But he did sell several copies and a few reishit Staten Islanders have taken a Box of the CD’s to sell.
The good part was I did not have to shlep the drums from my house, the yeshiva has a set all set up in the “music room”. We played about 40 minutes.
Aryeh spoke to the boys about capitalizing on their year of learning and spoke of his Late brother, Zavel.
Who composed songs that Aryeh will be realeasing soon. He even sang one of his brothers songs.
Last night my thumb hurt from holding the sticks… so I think my career may be winding down… but I can say that I played for Ayreh Pearlman.
I told the yeshiva boys that the drumming on the CD is NOT my playing.
I also met Evan Hirschorn, from Monsey. My friend Milch kept telling me to send regards to this guy for months… he learns at Reishit. go say hello….etc..
well, I had three guys tell him to come to the Kumzitz because I HAD to send regards. SO I can cross that task off the list.
Tonight the balloontwisting and chessed chug is heading to the hospital again.
This time with more kids and more balloons.
There may be a small write up in tommorrows hamodia and a press release in next week’s paper as well.
Trying to get some exposure to try and expand the program to other cities and towns.
I’ll let you know tommorrow how it goes.
well, I’m going to sign off and do some work.
Have a great day..
