Friday was trip day. No balloons. Whew. We went to Be’er Sheva to the air force museum. What a great museum. Dozens of fighter jets, helicopters, anti aircraft guns…etc. There was even a airplane that served as a movie theater. You walk on the plane, sit in the seats and see a short film about varioud israeli Air operations. It was incredible to see the row of “captured” jets. Each had a “story”. One Iraqi pilot defected and landed in ISrael. SO Israel had a working mig -17 to study. Another Pilot landed in Israel thinking he was in Syria. The kids had a great time as they got to sit in helicopters and old airplanes. The trip was an hour to Be’er Sheva.. next time you are in israel with your kids, come see the Museum.

Friday night at Anshei Montal (the minyan accross the street) we were treated to a davening by Dovid Shlomo Akselrud, the great-grandson of Cantor Shlomo Beinhorn. I don;t think I ever heard him before.. and he was pretty good. You learn observe alot about people, just by watching. Dovid said it was his first time he ever davened friday night for the amud. He’s pretty talented as he also made the kugals for the BIG sun gardens Kiddush. Last night was a big night in the area as several shuls had onegs. I went to one in a shul that I don’t daven at, but my friend simon, the israeli, david Korn, dragged me to it. I also found out this morning that my shul had one as well, Hmmm.. I wonder why no one told me… Im sure it was a mistake..The little area where we live had a kiddush today, in which all 60 families were invited. sounds good. Only problem was that it took place in our garage. The good news is people hung around and cleaned up so it wasn’t took bad. IT was nice as there are still families that are new or that you hardly see. It took only a few minutes for people to notice that there was no booze. I was NOT going to let people drink up my single malt scotch, so someone brought some red label and vodka. Dovid’s kugals went in a matter of minutes.

Tonight we are having the Israeli Cousin chanukah party at Dovid’s house. The Reich’s, fischers, and Kolodny’s are supposed to be coming. There is also a Chanuka event where there is a magician and the Moshav Band so there may be a few people sneaking out… but it should be fun.. well, I’m going to charge up the camera batteries and get ready for the party.
