Welcome Jeff… and goodbye jeff

March 3, 2006

What a busy few days….

first Jeffrey Kazan and I went on a hike in wadi dolev. Its my fifth time there but this time was a bit different. We saw 2 huge bee hive swarms on the path.. KAzan chickened out and did not touch it despite me offering him a quarter…

THEN, we saw a snake… again he chickened out and didn’t get a closer look on a dare. Americans. Spoiled Americans. We actually had a great time and had a nice snack as we pulled carob off the trees. He was amazed how nice it was. Israel isn’t only about running around.. just taking a look at the scenery… is great as well.

After the hike, I hightailed it to Tel aviv to take a stress test. TO join a baseball, softball league… you have to get on a bicycle…. and pedal… and get these sticky things attached to your body…. for about 15 minutes or so….. I’m like gulp… This better be over fast…Well, after the test…. and several gasps for air… I passed which isn’t such a big deal.

Softball is mostly standing around… trying not to get hurt and spill you beer….

Well, I thought that was the highlight of the day, until Kazan picked up the check after dinner. Of course… I left while he was in the mens room.. so I think he was forced into it… but.. in any event it was nice of him. We spoke about all the crowd in SI, politics, Green room, the new dog… fun stuff.

This morning was THE morning. Got the kids up extra early to head to the airport to get my parents. We got there early…. and the plane landed early… unfortunately they got out of customs / luggage an hour later.. .so the kids decided to ride the escalators .again and again. When they arrived only yoni was there to see them. Michal and MOshe were on level three… or somewhere. Well, we finally got everything packed and let me tell you for the first time I remembered why we bought the grandis. We fit 6 people AND 4 suitcases and three travel bags into the car. Of course michal went in the trunk but we DID make it.

well, theres more to tell about friday, namely the softball game…. needless to say… I didnt embaress myself, I got hurt in the hand, elbow and ankle on a slide… but….well… more about that later.

Have a great day and a great shabbos!!
