One more day…
March 13, 2006Its been a REAL busy few days.
First of all Happy Birthday Abba. We had a surprise birthday party for my father Thursday night after a Pizza thursday. We had rain thursday night so the softball game got cancelled. Oh well. hopefully friday we’ll have some nice weather.
Friday Penina and I went out to eat at Aroma. A fancy type of breakfast joint where we met up with the Mayor of ramat Beit shemesh, Jay Berkowitz. He is organizing a purim seudah with 15 other families…. but we are not going, perhaps for the dessert. We are actually having an early seuda as our cousins are coming in from jerusalem. They have to be back early to hear the megilla as their purim in a day after ours.
Shabbos was nice as we had the whole mishpacha at our house. LAst week It was at dovids because Penina was away, this week we hosted both meals.
Sat. night was an busy night. The balloon chug sponsored a pizza and balloon party at the orphanage in Jerusalem. I wanted to end the chug on a high note so we did. We had a party AND had a chessed trip at the same time. We had 18 boys and girls make balloons for 30 kids. 300 balloons and ten pies of pizza later… we made our good byes. Several parents chipped in with me to pay for the pizza and we had a great time. The girls were happy that we came and it made us feel good to bring some smiles to them. After we came back to RBS there was a melave malka in shul. Its not like the typical shul melava malka. Here, there is singing, music, dancing…. no speeches.. so its a alot of fun being able to hang with the fellas in shul.
Today, Sunday I had a balloon gig in Jerusalem at the fancy sheraton. I made a few balloon clowns, an arch and twisted balloons for a few hours. Its like flatbush over there. Fancy tourists…. its really not like israel. Its so funny. Then a bus pulls up… Dr.. somebosy christian tours…etc.. at its blacks, white people from ..somewhere… I saw a woman wearing a packers jersey with farve on the back… I said… oh oh… Cheeseheads in Israel.. Look out…
well, its 11 pm and I just wanted to catch up with everyone on the latest in Israel… only 25 hours to purim and you can feel it in the air.
All the schools in the area had parties so all the kids were dressed up. I think half of israel dresses up like army soldiers and policemen…. but its still nice.
Have a good day and chag sameach!!!
